Clementine du Pontavice

Clémentine du Pontavice is a committed artist, author and illustrator. All of her work revolves around civic engagement.

She has written and illustrated children's books for L'école des loisirs, including Truc de fille ou de garçon ? (Girl or Boy Thing?) on gender stereotypes, Seul(s) au monde ? (Alone in the World?) on differences, and Dans quel monde vit-on ? (What Kind of World Do We Live In?) on ecology. More recently, she has collaborated with Ghada Hatem on ‘Journal intime de corps’ (Body Diary) about puberty and ‘Le Sexe et l'Amour dans la vraie vie’ (Sex and Love in Real Life), and with Géraldine Mosna Savoye on ‘A quoi tu penses’ (What Are You Thinking About?) about philosophy.

She continues to work on projects that question and challenge society by addressing issues from a child's perspective with the podcast ‘Ma langue au chat’ (My tongue in the cat's mouth), produced and directed by Nouvelles Écoutes.

Clémentine also created the ‘Réparer l'intime’ (Repairing intimacy) initiative with photographer Louise Oligny. Every week, she runs workshops at the Maison des Femmes in Saint Denis, La Pitié Salpêtrière and Bichat to help women who are victims of violence regain their confidence and self-esteem through jewellery, photography and drawing.

She occasionally collaborates with galleries and private clients, offering bespoke works, illustrations and workshops.
